She holds a degree in Law and was called to the Nigerian Bar. She holds three Master degrees in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (Criminology), International Affairs and Strategic Studies (Politics & International Affairs) and Laws (LLM)
She attended the Forensics and DNA Evidence Academy at the Forensics Anthropology Foundation of Guatemala (FAFG), Guatemala, and the Transitional Justice Academy at Kigali, Rwanda.
Ballason is also the Principal Partner MIVE Legals (Ballason Chambers) and Executive Director and Founder of the Molluma Yakubu Centre for Medical Law and Mass Atrocities Prevention.
Ballason has lectured in two postgraduate schools of the Kaduna State University and Nigeria Defence Academy, Africa's foremost military university. She designed and curated the Policing Behaviour and Control Measures course as an interdisciplinary postgraduate course for Psychology and Criminology postgraduate students.
Ballason is a writer, publisher and public speaker. For about a decade and a half, she was a weekly columnist in two Nigerian dailies.
